The Mavericks dominated this game from start to finish and progressed through to the semi finals. Playing against second in the league Thackley the Mavericks dominated and the score line did not reflect some excellent play by the Mavericks. Bryony Hudson hit the cross bar 3 times and Thackley cleared off the line on more than one occasion. The Mavericks opened their account on 16 minutes with a fine shot from Dannielle Green who powered passed the helpless Thackley defence. The Mavericks midfield led by Oliva McDaid did not give Thackley and time to sit back and were unlucky not to convert more chances. Near the end of the half a Bryony Hudson shot was deflected past the Thackley keeper to make it 2-0 at half time.

The Mavericks were hit by a sucker punch in the first minute when Thackley battled to score and bring them back into the game. Thackley then had a good 10 minutes of the game and only excellent saves from the Mavericks keeper Liz Nixon kept Thackley at bay. Some powerful defending from Emily Thornton and Girl of the Match Toni Whitehouse got the Mavericks back on top. On 20 minutes Dannielle Green broke clear and fired in her second of the game and 5 minutes later she bagged her 4th hat trick of the season putting the Mavericks 4-1 in front. The Mavericks dominated the rest of the game and excellent football from Hannah Sillince, Bryony Hudson, Olivia McDaid and Dannielle Green meant that the Mavericks completely dominated the game. This game also saw some great performances from Elena Rolph, Hayley Smith, Lucy Erskine and Jessica Green who came on in both halves to cause Thackley even more problems.

This great team performance saw the Mavericks deserved winners and they now wait to see who they will face in the semi finals on the Cup.

09/11/2008 2 - 1 Win Against Thackley Juniors
This top of the table clash saw the Mavericks make a poor start as Thackley took the lead after only 3 minutes on a heavy pitch. The Mavericks showed good spirit and took the game to Thackley creating a number of chances but were unable to convert any ofthem into goals. Thackley continued to play well and only fine defending from Toni Whitehouse and Emily Thornton kept them at bay. Some great goalkeeping from Liz Nixon meant that the Mavericks still had the game within their reach. The whole Mavericks squad had to play at their best to stay in the game and Lucy Erskine, Elena Rolph, Hayley Smith and Jessica Green where all a credit to themselves and their team mates.

The second half saw the Mavericks show their true colours and in the first minute Bryony Hudson sent Danielle Green through on goal who fired past the helpless keeper to level the scores. The Mavericks forward line of Hannah Sillance, Hudson and Green caused problems throughout the second half but more goals did not come. Tireless play in midfield from girl of the match Olivia McDaid kept the Mavericks moving forward and also kept Thackley pegged back. With 10 minutes to go Bryony Hudson went on a run from her own half and fired the Mavericks second goal of the game. Thackley did notlay down and only fine play from McDaid, Nixon, Whitehouse and Thornton kept the 2-1 lead. The Mavericks deserved this victory which keeps them at the top of the table with a 100% record and 5 points clear of the chasing pack.

A passing master class from the Mavericks saw them run out 9-2 winners and maintain their 100% record. The Mavericks opened their account on seven minutes when Bryony Hudson sent Hannah Sillince through on goal to make it 1-0. Sillince then turned provider as Danielle Green fired past the keeper a minute later. Again Sillince set up Green on 16 minutes for Green to bag her second of the game. Green then setup the Mavericks fourth goal as Toni Whitehouse fired past the South Leeds keeper. The Mavericks didnot have things their own way and only some fine keeping from Liz Nixon kept South Leeds from opening their account. 20 minutes into the game the Mavericks made it 5-0 when a strong shot from Danielle Green was deflected into the goal by a South Leeds defender. Near the end of the half, South Leeds finally beat the Mavericks defensive line to make the half time score 5-1.

The second half saw the Mavericks start strongly with Green turning provider for Hudson to grab her second goal of the game.South Leeds then dug deep and made life hard for the Mavericks. Only excellent play from Emily Thornton, Elena Rolph, Jessica Green, Hayley Smith and captain Olivia McDaid kept the South Leeds from scoring again. 10 minutes from the end Sillince setup three goals in three minutes all for Green to bag five goals for the game. In injury time South Leeds got a deserved second to make the final score 9-2. The girl of the match was awarded to Liz Nixon for some fine goalkeeping and also Hannah Sillince for creating scoring one goal and creating five more out of the nine goals scored.

The Mavericks moved back to the top of the league and maintained their 100% record on a heavy pitch at Shelf in Halifax. The opening encounters saw both the Mavericks and Shelf have chances but some fine saves from Mavericks keeper Liz Nixon kept Shelf atbay. Tireless running from Bryony Hudson, Dannielle Green and Olivia McDaid allowed the Mavericks to dominate the first half and only some fine saves from the Shelf keeper kept the Mavericks from scoring.

Within minutes of the second half starting a pass from Bryony Hudson sent Hannah Sillance clear who shot first time passed the helpless keeper. Shelf did not give in an some fine defending from Emily Thornton, Toni Whitehouse and Bryony Hudson kept the Mavericks on top. A dubious penalty to Shelf was fired over the bar and the Mavericks soon made it 2-0 with Hannah Sillance sending Dannielle Green through to fire past the Shelf keeper. Again a Bryony Hudson pass sent Girl of the Match Dannielle Green clear for her second of the game. The Mavericks continued to dominate with Jessica Green, Elena Rolph and Lucy Erskine all playing some good football keeping Shelf on the back foot. Hayley Smith went close with her shot beating the keeper only to hit the post. In the dying minutes a second goal fromHannah Sillance secured all three points with a deserved 4-0 away victory.

A great start from the Mavericks saw them 2-0 up after only 2 minutes. An Olivia McDaid pass sent Bryony Hudson through on goal for the first goal of the game. Bryony Hudson turned creator as Danielle Green fired in the Mavericks second of the game. Hudson again provided the third with Danielle Green slotting home her second of the game. The roles were reversed for the fourth with Green providing the pass to send Bryony Hudson through to grab her second of the game. Hudson assisted yet again to make it 5-0 as Lucy Erskine fired past the helpless keeper. Some excellent goalkeeping from Liz Nixon kept the score down and the Mavericks we unlucky to concede just before halt time to make it 5-1 at half time.

The second half saw the Mavericks continuetheir domination with Toni Whitehouse firing home two goals in the first 5 minutes to make it 7-1. The weather though changed and strong wind and rain helped Hebden Bridge put the Mavericks on the back foot. The Mavericks held firm in the terrible conditions with Emily Thornton, Hannah Sillince, Elena Rolph, Jessica Green and Hayley Smith all working hard against a strong wind. Hebden Bridge grabbed two goals in between a fine strike from Girl of the Match Bryony Hudson netting her third of the game and also a second hat trick strike from Danielle Green made the scores 9-3 to the Mavericks.

The Mavericks proved to be too strong for a resilient South Leeds team. The opening part of the game was dominated by both defences who gave light away. On 20 minutes though Danielle Green scored a hat trick inside of 90 seconds. The first was a solo runand shot, the second was setup by a Bryony Hudson pass and the third another solo run and shot from Green. Two minutes later Green bagged her fourth of the game after Hudson once again proved the killer pass. South Leeds did not give in though and only some excellent goalkeeping by Liz Nixon kept them out.

The Mavericks continued to dominate in the second half and on 5 minutes Green turned provider as Hudson fired passed the helpless keeper to bag her first of the game. On 19 minutes a pass from captain Olivia McDaid sent Hudson through on goal who fired home her second of the game. In the dying moments another fine save from Nixon kept the final score at 6-0 to the Mavericks, keeping them top of the table for a second week.

14/09/2008 4 - 1 Win Against Prospect Juniors FC
The Mavericks started their season in fine style with an emphatic victory over title contenders Prospect. The first half saw both teams attack from the start and some fine defending from Girl of the Match Emily Thornton and some fantastic saves from keeper Liz Nixon kept Prospect at bay. The Mavericks started to dominate the game and opening the scoring in the 21st minute after Bryony Hudson`s shot hit the post and Hannah Sillince converted the rebound. Five minutes later the Mavericks made it 2-0 when anOlivia McDaid throw in was headed on by Lucy Erskine and fired passed the helpless keeper by Danielle Green.

The second half continued to be close and Prospect made it 2-1 after 16 minutes but the Mavericks worked hard and defended as a team brilliantly. The Mavericks made the game safe on 28 minutes when a fine bit of control from McDaid sent Sillince through who fed Toni Whitehouse who slotted the ball home. Then in the last five minutes a great run and shot from Danielle Green made it 4-1 to the Mavericks.
